“Every child deserves a champion, an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection and insists that they become the best that they can possibly be.”

Montessori at Home

Learning isn't just for school. Getting a few things right at home can really support your child's journey through Montessori, and allow their natural curiosity and excitement to flourish all day long.

They key to this is to allow your child the time and space to act and think independently: make sure they have access to basic tools for drawing and other activities without having to rely on an adult. If possible make a space that is dedicated to children, where things can happen their way. And allow them the time to put things away properly!

It is also important to show an interest in what they are doing without taking over. Encouraging independence is a fine balancing act between standing back and getting involved - remember not to let your grown up preconceptions or own ideas overpower their much more fragile ones.

For more information on how you can help your child at home and other information about the Montessori method see www.montessori.org.uk.

If you would like to read more about Montessori there are several books written by Maria Montessori. The Montessori Method, The Secret of Childhood and The Absorbent Mind are a few of her books.

Here are some of our resources

Communicating with Parents...

We believe communicating with parents is an important part of sharing your children's educational journey. We use a specially designed app for nursery education called Blossom Education. All our parents will have their own login details and will be able to see their child's progress and can also communicate with us with any questions or concerns you may have. The app is specially designed with EYFS and Montessori targets making it a great tool for our school.

If you would like to find out more about this app or download it please visit https://blossomeducational.com/parent-communication/.
